Jeronimo's Bar

NEW

LOGO + BRANDING, PRINT, INTERACTIVE + WEB

Jeronimo's Bar promises to be the go-to-Lounge Bar for locals in Miami Beach. Far from you run of the mill South Beach venues, Jeronimo's Bar is one-of-a-kind and we wanted to capture that unique and alternative spirit in their branding.
We were lucky enough to work with a super talented Illustrator, Joel Herrera, on the 'Woman & Octopus' poster art.

This has been one of our favorite branding projects to date! Jeronimo's approached us with an awesome concept which was right up our alley.

Once Jeronimo's gets a hold of you... you'll never leave.

BORSCHT Film Festival

INTERACTIVE + WEB

The Borscht Film Festival, established in 2004, is Miami's fresh local independent film fest. It commissions and showcases films by emerging artists that tell Miami stories that go beyond the typical portrayal of a beautiful but vapid party town, forging the cinematic identity of the city both locally and globally. The Borscht festival has been called "Miami's best film festival" by Miami New Times and "Miami alt-culture summit" by The Miami Herald.

We worked in tight knit with Borscht and our developer to design this brand new website. We also extended the new media campaign into social media branding.

BORSCHT Film Festival

LOGO + BRANDING, PRINT, INTERACTIVE + SOCIAL MEDIA

The Borscht Film Festival is a quasi-yearly event held at iconic Miami venues that commissions and showcases films created by emerging regional filmmakers telling Miami stories that go beyond the typical portrayal of the city as a beautiful but vapid party town, forging the cinematic identity of the city.

Kaleidoscope, working closely with the great folks at Borscht Corp., created a fresh new branding campaign for this year’s festival, Borscht 7. In addition to a new logo and secondary mark, the branding effort included new and traditional media. We designed an arsenal of collateral, including posters, ads, marketing materials, stickers and much more!

The primary mark is a python eating an alligator eating the python... and so on, an so on... a never ending Yin and Yan; representative of the dueling identities of our city, Miami. Learn more about the true story behind this concept here.

Jai-Alai Magazine

LOGO + BRANDING, INTERACTIVE + WEB

We joined up with the University of Wynwood Press to design and develop a new website to accompany the inaugural volume of Jai Alai Magazine. The project brings together Miami writers and artist in a limited-edition journal. The inagural volume will span ten issues over five years.

We worked closely with the University of Wynwood to define the visual design of the site based on its primary purpose. The goal was to focus on usability and make the content easy to navigate through while creating a well organized portal for visitors and participants to learn more about the project. The solution was a minimalist structure where type and copy are primary. A strict grid helps drives the design aesthetic and the overall ideology behind the design decisions focus on form following function.

Jai-Alai Magazine

LOGO + BRANDING, PRINT

The newest publication from the University of Wynwood Press, Jai Alai Magazine, is a limited edition biannual periodical documenting literary life in Miami. We were asked to design the cover art for the first volume which will run from 2010 until 2015. With every issue, the covers' elements will degrade until all that remains is a single bar, representing the ending of this specific period in time.

The Jagged

LOGO + BRANDING, INTERACTIVE + WEB

We're giving The Jagged an extra edge! Taking a cue from The Jagged's stripped down rock'n'roll style, which was inspired by poetry found in casual encounters and forgotten rhymes, we designed a landing page that portrays the artistic energy and spontaneity of the band through warm vintage hues, super 8 films, and a bygone era of fun and free spirited adventure.

While we built The Jagged's page primarily around their personal style, our main goal was to create a direct connection between the band and their fans. Social media integration provides the most up-to-date info on shows and special gigs. Fans can also download and share their favorite songs. The end result is a site that is useful and entertaining for fans and efficient for our client.

Red Raven

LOGO + BRANDING, COLLATERAL

Red Raven Entertainment is a new film production company based in Los Angeles, CA. With a new perspective on story telling set in visually arresting worlds, they take the film-goers to unusual places and expose them to worlds that can rarely be imagined.

As a new brand, Red Raven came to us to develop their primary mark. We worked with them closely to define their visual message. They wanted a logo that was both slick and organic. They also wanted a gothic undertone and to incorporated the raven in the mark. This is the final solution.

Small Reprieve

DESIGN, PRODUCTION

"Small Reprieve" is an outdoor public artwork by Miami-based artist Jim Drain. 455 ft of vinyl fence wrap around NE 40th St and North Miami Avenue, transforming the façade of a neglected, vacant lot in the Miami Design District into a whimsical and beautiful experience. Drain collaborated with students from the Design and Architecture Senior High School to create the melted crayon drawings that when collaged together would become the imagery that evokes stained glass. Under Jim Drain's art direction, Kaleidoscope was given the task of tiling the crayon drawings and photographs along the 455 ft span and bringing his artwork into full production. The project is a special commission through the support of art collectors Rosa de la Cruz, Asi Cymbal and Craig Robins.

Blind Beast

LOGO + BRANDING, PRINT

Blind Beast is blasting off into the market as a competitive Miami-based video production company. We worked closely with them to develop an identity from the ground up and the result is a logo and brand that matches their unique personality and style‒hip and slightly dark, but still contemporary and professional. In addition to the logo and identity we are currently working with them to showcase their videos by extending the brand into a full media campaign; including a website, social media, and print.

Poplife

INTERACTIVE + WEB

Poplife, a far as we're concerned, has been running Miami's club scene for 10 years and going strong. Their success is in part to their ability to understand and adapt to the latest trends; keeping with this they contacted us to create a web portal through which their partygoers can see their latest events, piece together the memories of last night, and get to know the company better. We kept the site's aesthetics clean and simple in order to move with and showcase Poplife's parties and interests and allow it to grow and adapt to whatever trends might enter into the Miami scene. With a focus on getting the most pertinent information to the user, we've created a site that will last and grow as Poplife will.
